diaspora youth speak mural project

i spent years in school learning the epistemology and terminology of poli sci and int’l rels with a hefty price tag. meanwhile people live the change of global imbalance and know the phenomena from experience. working with these youth reminded me how much people know from their own contexts regardless of whether or not their have the technical language to articulate it. so remember, you know alot – it’s in your body, your cellular memory, you take in learning all the time. and we should all make time and space for people with differing levels of access to privilege to share their insights and to value everyone equally especially when knowledge is not presented in academically accepted ways like publishing a big fat book and calling all the ideas in it yours.
